The Science Behind Uvlizer

The quality of the air we breathe, the cleanness of surfaces and objects we touch, and the purity of water we drink have a profound effect on our health and well-being. We’re all at risk of contracting and spreading vi and bacteria.

UV-C radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water and surfaces that can help mitigate the risk of acquiring an infection and has been used extensively for more than 40 years1. All bacteria and germtested to date respond to UV-C disinfection.

Uvlizer uses a 254 nm wavelength where the action on DNA is 85% of the peak value and 80% on the IES curve. As a result, our germicidal lamps are extremely effective in breaking down the DNA of microorganisms. This means that they cannot replicate and cause disease.

What is UV sterilization?

Hospitals have long known that normal cleaning with chemical products is insufficient to keep an area free of germs. That’s why they use a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light called UVC to kill the germs that regular cleaning can’t.

UVC light destroys all kinds of microbes by deactivating their DNA and RNA. The closer a surface is to the UVC light source, the more power the sanitization effect will be. That’s why the disinfection time for larger rooms is longer than smaller rooms.
