I have always left my hair straight because curling wands and curling iron‘s have always been difficult for me to use or I burn myself. AND when I use old school hot rollers ppl make fun of me lol. So on a whim I bought this product and if I can do it, anyone can do it. My hair has not tangled one time in it. You’d think it would but it’s not. At all. It takes me about 5-6 minutes (at most) to do my whole head of hair and I have about medium thickness hair, past my shoulders. You can do tight or loose curls, lower curls or higher up curls. SO JUST GET IT. YOU WONT REGRET IT! It’s tha BEST! :) You will never want to curl your hair with anything else, not even a straightener. Where has this product been my whole life? LOL. It does not damage your hair at all because it tells you when to let the curl go. No damaging hair ends whatsoever. But i also use a heat protectant beforehand. Kendra thermal heat protectant. Or Monet blow out cream. Or Paul Mitchell or biosilk heat protectant serum. Just a Little is all u need and your hair will be in great shape to use this everyday and you’ll hv good shine as well to your curls. . It also does not let off steam/smoke like straighteners do when you straighten your hair. I could go on and on reviewing this product. Just buy it. DO IT. I 1000000% recommend this! Flawles Curl did a great job with this invention :)
It usually takes me about an hour to curl my hair with a wand and I’m terrible at using a curling iron on my own hair. This only took me 15 minutes. I have very thick wavy hair and this was super easy to use. You put the hair in the opening where you want the curl to start and pushing the button. It’ll beep when it’s time to take it out. It doesn’t pull your hair and you can rest the curler on your head if your arms get tired and it’s not hot. You can wrap your whole hand around it and it won’t burn you. I highly recommend this.
I have baby fine, thin hair. And for whatever reason, I got the brilliant idea to bleach it and chop it off. Which left me clueless as to how to make my hair look full and well styled, because I’m a messy bun and extensions girl. I’ve always adored the curled bob hairstyles, but I’ve never had luck getting my hair to hold a curl, which is massively due to not knowing how to properly use a curling iron.I was super apprehensive to buy this curling tool; it was a lot of money to potentially waste if I tried it once and hated it, but knowing I’d been satisfied with other Pick Cool Gift products I was willing to take the risk. I did my research, watched a few YouTube videos, and decided Pick Cool Gift had it cheaper (and quicker delivery options) than anywhere else.First time using it, and I cannot rave about it enough! I got exactly the look I wanted, my hair actually held curls for over 12 hours, it looked full and voluminous without extensions. It was so easy to use, and only took me 20 minutes to style a full head of hair, which typically takes me 45-60 minutes.I highly recommend buying it, I cannot even find a negative thing to say!
It definitely works! The first time I tried it I was stoked but didn't do more than a couple test curls because my hair was dirty. The next time I used it, was later in the day after washing my hair that morning. Boy, did that make a difference in how much hair I could use at one time! Clean and healthy hair was too thick so I had to do much smaller sections. (See pic. All one directions spins, away from my face) I like that it beeps at you as soon as there's too much hair and as long as you go slow unraveling the curler, tangles and breakage are a minimum; definitely no worse than other hot curlers or irons. So today I used it on 2nd day hair and found that to be perfect. I was able to do decent sections and by following the instructions on how to align it in the curler, I did my whole head without any beep warnings. It's got a steep price (to me) so I'm hoping it has lasting power with regular use.
I had some friends over and they allowed me to try out my new spin n’ curl. Once I learned what amount of hair to use, to allow hair to go down the center of the tool it was smooth sailing. The video does help understand how to do this. Every so often if too much hair went on either side of the center barrel it would jam a bit, but it wasn’t a big deal. The auto shut off worked very well. It takes about 5-10 seconds to restart after this happens.I originally purchased this for my 8 year old and didn’t want to learn on her gentle head, however, from what my friends told me it didn’t hurt even when it did jam...and when I say “jam” it sounds more extreme than it is. I just mean that the hair isn’t smoothly wrapped around the barrel going the same directly so it’s caught slightly. It’s a gentle tug, then shut off. I hope this helps my daughter with pin straight blond hair. I’ll update if my opinion changes, but so far I think this is an amazingly simple tool to curl hair.Tip: I know this may seem obvious, but brushing each strand before putting it in the barrel does help prevent jamming, as well as creating a perfect curl.
I was skeptical that it would he THAT easy to do especially on medium length hair...omg takes less than half the time of my remington wand and the curls STAY. I pull my fingers through and add textuizing sea salt spray for loose beachy waves and it lasts! Slept on it and touch was quick and easy the next morning as it still had volume and waves. It really is as easy as tutorial videos show. Best investment.
I am in love with this gadget! I’ve always used curling irons, but this is so much better. For me, I don’t have to be as mindful of how I’m wrapping my hair in the curling iron to avoid that antiquated style of overly curled hair. This thing makes lovely soft curls that fall just right on your head with less curl at the root and more at the middle and bottom of hair strands.I love that the heated part is completely inside the barrel, so no worries about burning my fingers. It’s very quick to heat up - under a minute. You can easily adjust the settings for heat or how long you want the hair in the barrel before it beeps. Even if the unit hasn’t beeped and you want to release your hair sooner, you just pull it out.It won’t let your hair get stuck inside. If you try to put too much inside or the hair is too tangled to start, the iron beeps and stops pulling the hair inside. You can’t continue until you reset the iron. I have pretty thick hair and still have been able to pull in reasonable sections of hair.I’m able to curl my entire head of thick hair in about 10 minutes.Love the easy buttons to change the direction the curl will go. It does take just a bit of getting used to with respect to how to most effectively hold the wand and how to place your hair inside to achieve the best result.I’m right handed and usually curl my whole head with my right hand. With this, I found it easier to use my left hand to hold the wand when working on MY right side of head, so basically hold the wand with the hand opposite of the side you’re curling. Use your free have to pull the section of hair into the slot on the front (which should face the outside away from your head). But even the first use, my hair came out really great. These pics are from the 2nd time when I hadn’t really finished styling it. After the curls loosen up and your hair products settle in a bit, your hair will look even better and have that languid, sexy curl. Definitely worth the money! I’m so glad I bought it!
Disclaimer: I have always been uniquely awful at curling my hair. It takes forever, damages my hair, and ends up looking horrible anyway. But using this Flawless Curl, my hair looks amazing, it only took about 13 minutes (on my first try!) and it actually stays with the help of some heavy duty hair spray! It is honestly so easy to use, it’s idiot proof and literally won’t let you tangle or rip your hair off. It is SUPER easy to recurl your hair if it gets limp (all curls are the same!) and while it can be a bit tough to do the back of your hair... it’s always tough to do the back of your hair. I’ll come back and update my review after a few weeks of use, but for now, I’m a changed woman with beautiful effortlessly curly locks.
This color is amazing! I really love how easy it makes it for me to get ready in the morning. The curls last all day and at the end of the day there are these really sweet pretty waves. I just put a little bit of leave in conditioner after I curled my hair and it keeps my hair smooth, sleek, shiny, and soft. It makes it look like I really know what I am doing with my hair even though I really don’t. I cannot recommend this product enough. I’ve gotten loads of compliments about how my hairstyle has improved and I really like the way I look now. The biggest problem before for me was how much effort it took to style and curl my long hair but now it takes about ten minutes max. If you were on the fence about it especially if you do not like to spend lots of time in the morning on your hair this is totally the right thing to buy. A++++
I love this hair curler! I don't usually curl my hair because I'm not good at using traditional curling wands. This thing makes it so easy to have perfect curls! I watched a couple tutorial videos on Youtube before purchasing, which helped me know what to expect and do.The timer is great. So far I've used it only set for 15 seconds, which is the minimum time, but you can pull your hair out of the curler before that if you want or set the timer for longer. You don't have to worry about your hair getting stuck. If you try to put too much hair in, it will jam and beep. Then you just pull the curler down and your hair comes out.You also don't have to worry about burning your head or hands. It only feels a little warm on the outside. The first two pictures are of the curls, and the last one is after I've run my fingers through them to make them look more like beachy waves.
Wow Flawless Curl!! You really did an amazing job with this product! I try ALL the time to curl my hair and it turns out a hot mess. One I blame it on being left handing and two I just can never figure out which way to turn it. This heats up to 410 degrees which is perfect for my thick hair. It also gives you the ability to spin in two directions and actually gives you arrows in the directions. It took me 20 min vs my typical one hour and just turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this product. P.s my hair got stuck a few times but it was super easy to remove my hair and I did have to turn it off because it gives you a warning buzzing noise
So I’ve had the same hair cut and style since I was in middle school... long and straight, because I could only ever figure out how to work a straightener. I’ve tried a couple curling irons/ wands and always end up with burned hands or fingers and never with curly hair. I’ve tried using my straightener to curl my hair, also to no avail. I’m literally THE WORST at doing my hair.BUT. This thing is amazing. It took me a few tries to get the hang of how to hold it so my hair wouldn’t tangle. But even when it does tangle, it shuts off and stops pulling so there’s no risk of it pulling your hair out. Now that I’ve gotten the hang of it, it takes me 15-20 min to do my entire head. My hair is medium-long and not super thick or super thin. Reaches to below my shoulder blades, which has always been an issue when I’ve tried other curling products.I love this thing and have already recommended it to my sister and a couple friends. Truly is idiot-proof and creates super tight or beachy-wavy curls depending on the temperature and time settings you choose. Photos are from my first attempt.
This product was so so so easy to use. My hair *almost* got stuck twice my first few trials but no hair was ripped out and it was easy to remove. I was putting the curler too close to my scalp. But once you get the hang of it, I mean it is incredible. 100% worth the money! I used to struggle with curling my hair, and didnt want to invest the time. This took 10 minutes to curl my whole head and that includes learning how to use it.
I’m blown away!! As a dad it’s always hard for me to try new things with my daughters hair because it’s stubboran and I’m in construction so I don’t have the lightest hand!! I’m BEYOND happy with this product!!! I did her hair in 8min!! And it came out great! I would definitely recommend this for anyone! Super simple with fantastic results!!!
Sooo my first attempt at using this was a huge fail, I kept feeding my hair tangled and I just wasn’t doing it right. I watched a couple YouTube tutorials and have it a second chance and I love it! It’s definitely tricky at first but once you get it it’s easier than other curlers. I have very long, thick, pin straight hair curling it with this took me 30 minutes. I actually timed it because of how quick people say it is. If you have thinner hair (Thus less sections) it will definitely be quicker, length does make much of a difference. This is going to be my go-to curler! I hope they come out with a 1.5 inch barrel.
Great curling iron. Ive always have had problems with curling my hair on a regular iron, have burned my ears many times. This iron, once you learn how to use it properly is great. It took me a few uses before I understood how to use it. It is soft on hair, even on high setting it doesn't fry your hair and it leaves it shinny.I would recommend this product if you're looking for soft curls.
I rarely leave reviews, but I HAD to for this amazing thing. I have really fine hair, but A LOT of it. My hair is naturally straight and just takes FOREVER to curl. I've never been able to sit & curl my own hair myself, except with the leave in curlers that take forever to set & usually end up hurting my scalp. I had given up the idea of ever being able to easily curl my hair myself when the whim struck me. ENTER THE CHI AIR SPIN. On my first use, I got all my hair curled beautifully in about 30-40 minutes (pic attached). I did have a couple locks that snagged in the curler, but they were really easy to get out & re-do. Most of those were my own fault for holding it incorrectly. I can only imagine that this will get faster I get used to using it. THANK YOU CHI!!!
I really, really LOVE this for curing my hair. It is simple to use and saves me a ton of time. I don't curl my hair often and when I used to, my curls didn't last very long. I don't have to worry about that now! I even tried it on my friends very curly hair and it worked so amazingly that she is buying one now too!The pictures above are on the lowest setting for both of our hair, I wanted a beach wave so I brushed the curls out and the picture was taken wearing my hair 'wavy curled' at the end of the day. The second picture is my friend who has very curly hair and that is right out of the cylinder.PROS: super simple instructions on how to use it, easily cleaned, saver of time, there are settings to how long you want your hair in and the type of curl you are going for, and my curls last for more than one night! I have LONG natural hair and I used to struggle to curl my hair and it would fall flat within an hour no matter what kind of product I put in my hair. It is so easy to use once you figure out how much of your own hair it can handle (depending on the length). Once you figure out the amount of hair to put it the wand it is a breeze to curl all of your hair. I did get my hair tangled in it a few times and I love that it just beeps and stops rotating, getting your hair untangled is very easy, just make sure to re-brush the hair before you put it back in to be curled because it will make your hair tangly when it gets stuck. I even used this right out of the shower with my hair still wet and it worked great, I just had to set it to the longer timer and my hair came out dry and curled. This is light weight and doesn't stress my wrist or hand. The cylinder allows for right or left curls so you can curl in either direction (this function is also useful to get hair untangled if needed), and again it is a HUGE time saver for me to get all of my hair curled with the same curls all over.CONS: I have very long hair and I had to get the hang of how big of a chunk of hair that I could put into the cylinder, but that isn't the products fault. Just know that if you have longer hair you may have to use smaller pieces to get the type of curl you want. I wish it would come with interchangeable cylinders instead of the one size.
BEST curling iron EVER! I am 38 years old and I have NEVER been able to curl my hair and not for lack of trying. I am in complete shock! This thing is so easy to use, I curled my whole head in less than 20 min and they were pretty curls not my usual frizzy mess. There is absolutely no way to burn yourself either. I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone that can't figure out how to curl with a curling iron/flat iron/wand.
From the day I got this product, it has become one of my most prized possessions. It comes with me on every vacation and business trip (dual-voltage, so no worries when you travel abroad). I was hesitant to buy it since it's a little pricey, but at 1/5th of the price of the Dyson airwrap, I thought it was worth a try. It's so easy to use, because you don't really have to wrap your hair like you would with a curling iron, it makes doing the back of your head so much simpler. The Spin n Curl heats up in seconds and your ready to go, which makes it super easy to touch up spots that fall during the day. I have very thin hair, but the curls tend to stay nicely throughout the day. On the second day, my hair is more straight with curly ends, which still looks like I had a nice blowout. I wish there was a way to get more of a "beach wave" look, but the curls are so beautiful and so easy that I don't really care. This product has saved me so much money on professional blowouts for meetings and events.
I really like this tool. I have shoulder to medium length hair, and it's super thick. It does take some experimenting to find the curl you like. I started off high heat and held for the whole 15 seconds and it was a super curl. A little much for much for me since I have to do my hair in layers and it's not quite long enough yet. I dropped the temp twice and didnt hold it as long, got a little better. Now I cant wait for my hair to grow longer! It really is super easy to use, I found it didnt take much time off the amount of time I spent straightening it, and I dont really curl my hair, but I can tell it takes less time using the spin n curl than it would a regular curling iron. The outside of it does not get hot so you can pretty much hold it anywhere.Overall this tool works, would be better on longer hair, and probably works wonders on thinner hair. I will definitely still continue to experiment and wait for my hair to grow out to at least my bra line again before I really wear curls. I would say it's worth the money, give it a shot!
Wow just wow. I cannot believe how well this works. My hair was all doll up in less than 10 minutes! I was so skeptic, even saved the package in case I need to return it right away. Sectioned my Hair into fourths and used larger pieces for looser curls, I think I need to play with the heat setting to have it just wavy like a beachy curl. Super easy to use and no snags, surprised!! I was prepared for some pulling and snags but nothing, I did put too much hair in and as soon as it starts to spin I guess it knew that it wasn’t going to roll smoothly so it beeps and I just hit the On button to reset. I’ve used it three times since purchase and have been pleased with how my hair turn out. Hope Flawless Curl makes a 1.5”, I’d buy it in a heart beat.
I used to use a wand and would always burn my fingers, especially on the hard-to-reach back of my head. My hair looks so great after using this product. It took a couple of times to get used to, but I love it and am getting good at it now! It helps to only wash hair every few days (not so slippery) but even the first day it works great! With dry shampoo in between, my hair looks, (and smells) good! I have fairly fine hair and it's even thinning a bit on top, but with this my hair looks so much fuller and my husband raves about my hair every day now! I have just below shoulder length hair with layers.
This took a minute to figure out how to use (the included instructions are useless) but if you watch the company's video on how to use it, it will become apparent. Once I watched the video, it was super easy, and I curled my whole head. I would say if you are someone who already knows how to use heat curling gadgets on your head, this is probably unnecessary. I, however, am bad at curling irons, etc, so this works way better for me.
I have straight, fine hair that would never hold a curl for more than a few hours. Now I have curls that last morning till night. They'd last into tomorrow if I didn't have to sleep on them. The curls are beautiful too. Easy to use once you play with it a few times.
I love this so much! I always wanty hair curled, but it always comes out uneven and looking like a mess. Background: I've been curling my hair for the past 10 years with my Chi straightener. The same one. For 10 years. It's a very basic straightener, and I curl my hair with it as you would a ribbon with a pair of scissors. This gave me much healthier and more even curls. The adjustable temperature is great because you can decide if you want tight or loose curls and the automatic spin just makes it so simple and amazing.Totally worth the $100.
I've been wanting a new curling device for awhile. I read reviews and decided on this guy. My daughter's were initially afraid to let me do their hair. I get it, the thing is kinda weird looking. It took a little getting used to putting the hair into the chamber. But once I figured that out, it was VERY simple to use. I'm still struggling to use it on my own head because I can't tell which way things go in the mirror. Plus, I think my hair is too short. I am really impressed with how my daughters have beautiful curls, though!
I’d say, from reading the reviews on here, that if you’re already pretty handy with a curling iron you’ll be disappointed with this one, but if you’re like me and never really had the patience to be good at the whole hair thing, then this is a must have. I loved it so much I went and bought my step daughter one. Don’t expect it to be faster then a regular curling iron, it might even take longer, but it does give people who never mastered a curling iron the chance to rock some beautiful curls :)
I like it. Look I am seriously hair style challenged. My hair never looks good unless I’ve just come from a salon. Since I got this CHI I’ve curled my hair just for the heck of it daily and I like it. Warning tho...this is NOT a miracle tool. There is a huge learning curve that I think most of these reviewers failed to mention. The back half of your head is super hard to do with this thing. Also if you have shorter hair underneath it’s difficult to get it all into the iron. Overall I decided it was worth keeping and after a few times it gets easier to handle. Don’t expect it to be like the one tool that will miraculously help you curl your hair perfectly every time though.
My hair varies between chin to shoulder length. Straight as the days are long, color treated. I use a The Beachwaver Co. S1 Curling Iron usually which is a similar price point. I have briefly burned myself on occasion just with my clumsiness. I was intrigued by the fact that the heating element is inside, so you really can't burn yourself by accident. I've also had the beachwaver kinda take off without me (hitting a button before I was ready) which is scary! Before I tried using it, I watched some youtube videos to get an idea. After getting acclimated with how it works, this was easy to use. You can alternate the curl direction with the touch of a button. When it beeps 3 times, you release the curl. It was pretty fast, did my whole head in about 10 minutes. It helps to twirl the hair a bit to make sure it goes into the chi better. You can choose the temperature depending on your hair type. Thinner hair, lower temp. The only difference between this and the beachwaver is that on the beachwaver I can leave the end of my hair out, which I typically do for the "beach wave" style. My boyfriend who's very into hair and styling said he liked the outcome of the Chi better than the beachwaver. It shocked me.My cousin with thick, long hair tried it and now she plans to get one too! Her hair is below her shoulders and she had more mishaps, but you knew there was a problem when it just continuously beeps, so you just remove your hair and start again. It was typically if she used too much hair at a time. Overall, I really like it! No complaints.
Love this curler by Chi - as with most of their curlers/straighteners, it is solidly built and easy to use. It has a long cord that has an attached velcro keeper. As opposed to most automatic curlers, it has an open design - this is great for those with long hair, because your hair WILL get stuck at some point & you can still get to your hair if it's badly stuck (as opposed to just pulling it out at all cost). It has a decent heat range & warms quickly. It's annoying at times because every time you have a missed/bad curl that you have to pull out of, it beeps incessantly (and LOUDLY) until you press & hold the power button. It's good to have that reminder, but it's also flustering to be untangling your hair while it yells at you (it also sounds a bit like a fire alarm, and my husband kept coming in worried that something was wrong).Once your hair passes a certain length, it's much more difficult to efficiently curl - it tangles easily in the curler if you're not extremely careful to use small, well-separated hair pieces. I do love that I can get well-set beachy curls or waves that do last for days, but I have snagged my hair very badly a couple times. Note: this is likely at least partially due to me being new at this type of curling iron. I do find I get smoother curls if I flat-iron my hair first - it's less likely to tangle & is easier to manage. I did immediately take this on a 2 week Hawaii vacation, and it performed admirably.
I read a lot of reviews on here and it made me laugh on what people think is a “con” about this product. I’ve been a hairdresser for 14 years and let me tell you, chi products have never let me down. This here is sooo much better than any other automatic curlers from conair to babybliss. I love how you can’t burn your scalp and the curls come out so soft. The only thing I would consider a “con” about this product is that you can’t do it all the way to the roots. Sure it’s a one inch barrel right now, but like any other manual curlers, there’s a bunch of different sizes and I’m sure there will be more sizes one day. This curler is definitely not for short hair, short hair should be using manual curlers anyways.Best thing about this curler, it heats up super fast, great results, and even better with products. This might not be for everyone, but from a professional stand point, it’s pretty good. Just remember, not recommended for short hair (above shoulder length I’d say).
So normally I'd have my wife write a review for a product she primarily (well only) uses but I figure I'd give this one a shot. See my wife has straight but fizzy hair, and she often loves the curl looks (the type where the hair is straight then slowly turns to a curl towards the bottom, especially if the hair is highlighted). Anyway, She normally has a professional do this stuff for her hair, but it can cost money and time. Instead, she got this and well even I can do it for her! She normally wouldn't trust me with any contraption close to her skull, but this one she has full confidence in me. Its simple, take some hair, put it by the machine, press the button, it does it's thing and wa-la! (is that how you spell that saying?) you've got some curls in the hair! So yeah, feel free to buy this, use it yourself or for the hard to reach spots, have a friend (child, adult, stranger even) give it a shot with confidence!
I got this in the mail yesterday and I’m already giving it five stars. I have pin straight hair that does not like to hold curl. I’ve paid loads of on money on product and tools to curl my own hair, or to just go get it done. I always end up with the same result, straight hair after 5-6 hours. I got my package around 3 pm and immediately tested it out. It took me less than 30 mins to curl my hair (regular thickness, about 3 inches below my shoulder in length). I used store brand hair prep spray on dry hair, and medium hold hair spray because that’s what we had in the house. My curls came out perfectly spiraled on the first try. I didn’t have to go over any pieces a second time. It was a little trial an error as to how much you can put in at once. I found sections about 1/2 inch wide worked best for me. If I put more than that, the machine would stop its auto spin, and say to reset. I just pulled the piece out (no tugging or getting caught at all), hit the reset button, tried a smaller piece and that worked fine. At about 10 pm my curls were still intact. I put my hair up in a pony tail to wash my face and fell asleep for about two hours. I woke up, took out the pony tail, still perfectly curled. Woke up the next morning and my hair still mostly curled. I think like a piece or two could have used a touch up. I have never had curls stay this long. So I would highly recommend this. Directions are easy to under stand. The shape of the curler protects you from burning yourself accidentally too.
This is the easiest tool for getting beach curls. You can take very small sections and curl closer to the head to get more of a spiral look, or take larger chunks and start the curl a third of the way from your head.Be aware that if you take too much hair the CHI gets angry. Not sure what too much means for your hair? Just go ahead and keep adding to the sections of hair you curl, you will know when CHI gets angry with you. Oh, you will know!Worth every penny and I would recommend it.
This awesome product literally does all the work for you once you put your hair in the barrel and hit the start button. You can select the direction of your curls each time you curl. It does not snag at all and makes the most beautiful and perfect curls. I used on medium length fine hair and was done in 10 minutes. It is very gentle on thinner hair. The many different temperatures are great as they allow you to decide how tight or loose you want your curls or waves. This product is definitely worth the buy!!
I was worried about spending on this item and not liking the results. I absolutely love the way that it curls my hair. It’s impossible to tangle and easy to learn to use. My hair holds the curl for day without needing touch ups.
I stumbled upon this searching on amazon and i had tried curling irons and flat irons to curl my hair and it always took no less than 30 min or more, now i can do my whole hair in like 7 min!!! It’s THE MOST CONVENIENT THING IN THE WORLD!! super wish i had invented it!! It’s got different settings for heat and time and it beeps at you and stops if you get too much hair in there and gets cloggedIt also beeps when you have it on holding your hair for however many seconds you wantLove it to death
This is such an excellent product overall with very few negatives. What used to take me 45-mins using a traditional curling iron, or 1-hour using curlers, I can achieve with this product in 20-mins. Highly recommended. I didn't rate it 5-star because of the few cons that I found when using it but would recommend, and have recommended, to family and friends.Hair-type - Thick, layered, curly-wavyLength - 3-inches below the shoulderPros1. Super easy to use (I would watch one of the videos just to be safe, but once you've used it, it's second-nature)2. Timer setting is amazing for even-looking curls3. Ability to change curl directions is useful for those of us with hair that flips different ways on different sides of the head4. The curls stay in (That could be more due to the hair product than the curler; I used the CHI product that came in the package and a separate defrizzer and was able to wear the hair for 2 days)5. Realistically, you can do small or larger sections of hair (It says to use 1-inch sections, but I've been able to put more. Just be careful as too much will jam it)6. Lightweight, plenty of cord length, and easy to use (no buttons or handles to release, you just literally pull it downward to release your hair)7. Heats up to 360 degrees in 40 seconds (I timed it)Cons1. Not great for super short hair, like bangs (Since it's 1-inch barrel, if you do bangs, I would say use it with a shorter timer and at an angle)2. Limited to just the 1-inch barrel so one-size curl (But if you want tighter or looser curls, just change the timer settings)3. It's round, so there's no stand to put it on, so you have to just watch that it doesn't roll off the counter when you put it down on a flat surface
I’m going to apologize ahead of time for the long review to people who actually read them but if you’re someone like me who researches which product they should get, this is for you! I have tried several curling wands and I could never get the hang of it. I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to properly curl your hair and my hands just don’t know how to not be awkward and do what they are supposed to do. I accepted that. Doing research on all the other self curling products I found that they did a good job but there were some issues with tangles and the excessive beeping. This product will immediately beep if it detects a tangle and doesn’t continue to curl and make your hot mess worse. It’s easy to pull the hair out and nothing has gotten stuck. As far as the beeping goes, most of the reviews I read on other products said that the product itself was good but there was excessive beeping and it was hard to do their hair in the morning while their significant other is sleeping or it was just down right annoying. This only beeps a couple times when it tells you that your hair is ready to be removed from the barrel or beeps if it detects a tangle. As someone that is “curling wand challenged” this product is perfect. You can increase the temperature, which also increases the time your hair is spent in the barrel, to get relaxed curls or you can make them more intense. The curl holds really well and I don’t experience them slowly fading away throughout the day. I would recommend this product to EVERYONE.
I have thick wavy hair and I struggle getting a consistent curl with my "normal" curling iron. I'm right handed so my the right side of my head looks lovely, and the left looks like a 3 year demon child drew my locks. This product eliminated that problem so I have consistent, cute curls going the correct direction all over my head. I find this product super easy to use and it's FAST. Way faster than my awkward arms. I'm getting compliments on my lovely locks. As noted in other reviews, you must use smaller sections of hair. If you get impatient and jam a bunch of hair in there, it will tell you about it. Also, you do need something to "hold" the curls. I haven't found that something yet, but I'm not going back to aqua net.
I have very thin, naturally limp hair and my stylist used on of these on me on my last visit and the results were so good, I bought one. I had been using a regular curling iron and burning my fingers and getting confused about which way I was rolling because I was looking in the mirror, etc. This gizmo takes some learning, but not much and it does a perfect job each time, getting the winding right, getting the time right, protecting my head, ears and fingers from burns.
I have thin hair and curls never stay and I am not very good at doing my hair. This does all the work and with a bit of product the curls really stay in. I can take my time and make it look amazing or fancy or take 5 minutes and curl thick chucks before I walk out the door for an effortless "I put effort into looking nice" look!
I love chi products. They’ve never let me down. I naturally have curly hair, sometimes I want a softer curl. I like to use it mainly on the front of my hair & to run through certain parts of my hair. The curls stay perfect, they don’t unwind. So you don’t have to worry about looking like a 90’s reject. Some days I only use redkins pillow proof spray to protect my hair from heat, nothing else, no hair spray or anything else to keep a good hold & the curls stay perfect. I hope they come out with 1.5 inches, I’d buy it too.
I struggle with curling irons, wands, etc. I can never get it right, and the curls usually fall out. My long hair is fine and naturally curly, so I only have one shot with an iron/wand or ALL of the curl falls out.I bought this after reading a dad's review about how easy it was to use to fix his daughter's hair. I figured if he could, surely I could. Right out of the box, no practice time, amazing curls. This is SO easy to use, you can't mess it up. Seriously, I can fix or repair almost anything in my house, but I can't work a curling iron or wand. This little jewel made quick work of my hair and it held the curl all day. I truly cannot believe how easy it is to use.If you struggle with fixing your hair, spend the money (maybe you will get lucky and it will be on sale), and order this today. You won't regret it! Bonus, it would be great for younger girls, as there really isn't much of a way to burn yourself.
I finally found the perfect hair curler for my long hair. It heats up super fast, is so easy to use and the curls last all day. It is also super safe, no more accidental curler burns. This curler is seriously idiot proof, my curls always come out perfect every time. I honestly have never loved my hair as much as I do now that I have the Spin N Curl. The price is completely worth it since I no longer have to pay someone to get beautiful curls that last.
I am amazed at how easy this wand is to use! Let me tell you I have the straightest non curly hair anyone can have. I saw an advertisement for it so I thought, why not? I’ll give it a try. It is expensive though so I figured I could return it if it didn’t work. All I can say is OMG. My hair looks amazing. There’s a slight learning curve when you first get it and it’s a bit intimidating looking but I got it. If I can figure out how to use it, anyone can. My hair is curly and looks stunning!!! I’m so pleased. I’d love to get one for all the girls in my family but the cost prohibits that... guess I’m going to have to share.
I have never been able to master a curling iron or a curling wand. I struggle with chronic shoulder pain from an injury and I'm unable to hold my arm up above my head for a long enough period of time to curl my entire head of hair. (On top of just not really being very good at it, period.)With this, I was able to complete my entire head without having to lift my arm up above a 90 degree angle and I was finished in about 15 minutes or less. It didn't tug my hair, get tangled or make me feel anxious about sucking my hair in. You can see your hair the entire time and it doesn't go all the way up to the scalp so there's no tugging. The beep let's you know when your curl will be done. Each one came out perfectly formed and I was delighted!I immediately brought the tool with me to work to show all my coworkers and let them try it out. Haha
For someone who has literally struggled to do hair forever, this tool is a GOD SEND- THANK YOU CHI!! After watching a 3 minute tutorial, I was able to figure out how to use the curler and curled my entire head in about 30 minutes...I'm sure the more I practice, the faster I'll get. It beeps when you have too much hair in so make sure you section off small enough sections because that is the one thing I struggled with. Overall this tool is amazing and for someone who isn't at great at using a wand or something else this tool is 1000000% the move. I'm so happy I bought it- great investment.
My hair is (normally) very hard to curl and this ACTUALLY WORKS! Even the next day, after waking up, there were some curls left. Normally all curl is out of my hair within a few hours. I didn't even use any styling product (which I tend to try not to use because it makes me break out). I used it on the 360* setting and left it in until it beeped. I don't know if I really liked the curls (on me) but it definitely gave me spiral curls. My hair is normally a couple inches past my shoulders and I'm thinking it may look best on people with longer hair. Or, maybe I should try it at the ends further. In any case, I'll be giving it another try to see if I can get some better results (for the look I'm going for). If you have hair that is hard to curl or comes out right after curling, like mine does, this may be the curler for you! I would have no problem recommending this curler - it's not hard to use, after a few minutes of trial and error, and it actually works!
This is the curling iron I have been waiting my whole life for!!! Seriously!!!! I have bone straight hair and NO coordination to spin a curling iron (yes i realize it is second nature to most, NOT ME) this thing is effective, efficient, and E A S Y!!!!
It is a good curler. But it is not easy for someone like myself who is not into doing my hair. I thought it would be quick and super simple, but it took a long time for me to curl my hair and couldn't really do the hair in the back. If you are good at doing your hair, this is a perfect product. By the way, a friend of mine curled my hair with this for me, and it took about 30 mins to do the entire hair. My hair looked fantastic and so many people told me that I looked pretty with my hair curled.I personally tried Dyson's airwrap, and this product is as good as Dyson's and it is way cheaper. If you are unsure between Dyson and Chi, I would definitely recommend this one. : )
Seriously, me and curling irons never got along. No matter how many tutorials I watched I could never get me hair to curl how I wanted it. Then along came this Chi magic curling contraption and my hair has never looked so fabulous!! It's super easy and dummy proof. It won't eat your hair, promise! Plus curls come out uniformed and they last all dang day. It takes me about 10-15 minutes to curl my long tresses. My hair hits mid back for reference. Seriously, I love this thing!!I only have 2 tools in my repertoire and honestly don't feel I need anything else. On curl days I use the Chi. On blow out days I use the Revlon One Step Volumizer. No more bad hair days for this tired ol mama!
I have a lot of hair. It is fine and long. Thinking about even trying to curl my hair stressed me out. I had paid someone to do my hair and make up for $100. It took them about 1 hour to just do regular waves in my hair. I decided if I had to pay someone to do my hair that much money, I should invest in something of quality and ease to do my own hair. My husband bought this for my birthday. I did my entire head in less than 30 minutes and my arm was not cramping. I was able to control the tightness of the curls by reducing the heat. It also didn't feel like it was frying my hair. Curls also usually fall out of my head one hour later. These curls last way past the next day! I was so excited that I started to curl everyone's hair! I can pretty much curl everyone else's hair in 15 minutes. You can't put a lot of hair in one curl but even if you do and the hair gets a little tension, the curler beeps and releases. It doesn't keep going, which I feared. I would definitely recommend this product.
I am someone who doesn't like using a curling iron because of all the hot parts that can touch my skin. I bought one and to be honest, didn't try enough because it just doesn't feel safe. I know I could have practiced with a cold tool until i got a hang of it, but I just simply don't like it. The main thing that attracted me to this product is no hot parts to touch. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use it, and once I got my first good curl, I was set, the rest were easy. I like it.
I have long been a Chi flat iron user. And Chi flat irons have a poor history of longevity. I rarely had one that lasted more than a year; many saw the flat iron graveyard long before 12 months of light/regular use. I honestly don't have high hopes for the longevity of this hair curler but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. That aside...I thought I'd roll the dice because my frizzy hair is hard to curl (surprisingly) and I hadn't seen anything like this out there. And the ratings were quite good, so I rolled the dice. I've only used it twice so far but this thing is a miracle for my fine, frizzy, hard-to-curl hair! I used it on a 400 degree setting for 15 second curls and I had gorgeous curls that lasted ALL night. I got so many compliments! I was very pleasantly surprised by this little miracle curler. I plan to use it over and over and just pray it doesn't give out on me.
This thing is amazing. Best buy so far in 2019!!! easy to use and heats up super fast.
I am so happy with this purchase. So easy to use (even for a klutz like me lol) curls come out looking great. I bought a set of hot rollers and a multi attachment curling rod at the same time and will be returning both as I just dont need them now. This tool really is wonderful. Works just as easily as it seems in the video. I would definitely buy it again and highly recommend it.
I am hair illiterate and this makes curling and styling my hair a breeze!!
My hair has n-e-v-e-r held a curl. I have long weird wavy hair that does noting in particular. It's not even a good wavy...it's like just a bunch of cow licks.... Anyways, I have to straighten it all the time, but that has gotten boring over the past 32 years. I had 4 or 5 curling irons that I promptly threw away after receiving this magical item. 10/10 worth the money, would purchase again. This thing is a gift from the hair gods themselves. for my rather abundant/long hair, it takes about 20-25 minutes to style my hair. I do dawdle, though....with practice I'm sure I can reduce that time significantly.
We bought this as a gift for my daughter at Christmas
THIS CURLER IS AWESOME.! IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SUPPOSE TO. DOES NOT TANGLE IN YOUR HAIR. IF YOU GET TO MUCH HAIR INTO CURLER IT WILL ONLY STOP. CURLS ARE LOVELY AND LASTING. I WILL NEVER GO WITHOUT ONE OF THESE AGAIN!!!!
