This is a wonderful machine for a good price. I am so pleased with my purchase. We have used this for 5 days straight for a couple of hours each time and it is still going strong. We used it for a few hours at my daughter's 5th birthday party with no problems. We use the Gold Medal brand Flossugar and with this machine, it makes DELICIOUS cotton candy, just like at the fair. Better than the pre-packaged cotton candy. One scoop makes a fair amount. Not too small and not too big. However, I pour in 2 scoops of flossugar per round and it worked just the same. It didn't overheat, did not overflow, did not get jammed. I made real big ones, so I did 2 or 3 rounds of 2 scoops per round per cone of cotton candy. The pics and video I posted are of the ones I made using 2 scoops and 2 or 3 rounds. And the super big one was a lot of rounds. No problem with the machine at all! It spits out a lot of floss. Even if I only put one scoop in there, it still makes a fair amount of cotton candy fluff. It was a big hit at the birthday party. When it first starts off, it is quiet. But after a while, it gets loud. The noise doesn't bother me. It's a great machine and good for the price. The sticks the product comes with aren't good. You won't be able to stick cotton candy on them. I purchased the cotton candy stick cones separate. It took me about 3 tries to figure out the best way to make the cotton candy. DONT stick your cone inside the machine and twirl it around while it's making floss. You won't get a lot (if any) that way. Instead, wait for a fair amount of floss to be produced by the machine and then put your cone ON TOP of the machine and twirl the cone. The floss will stick to the cone. Move your cone around and continue to twirl and you'll get a nice round stick (and plenty of) of cotton candy. ***Take a look at my video of me making the cotton candy and also my pictures to get a better idea ***It's also very important to let the machine heat up for 10 minutes every single time you take it out to use it. I personally let it heat for 12-13 minutes. Be patient and wait the full 10+ so minutes for it to warm up. Otherwise, it will hardly produce any cotton candy floss and in the end, it's going to take longer to make one if it isn't heated properly. Once you get started actually making the cotton candy, the machine isn't slow. It's not super duper fast like with the super expensive and big commercial machine at the fair, but it's not slow either. It spits out the floss pretty fast once the sugarfloss melts, and that itself (the sugar melting into floss) takes only a few minutes, I would say less than 3-5 minutes. I found that the longer I use it, when making multiple cones one after the other, the machine melts the sugar much faster and much more efficiently.I want to add, when the machine appears it isn't making cotton candy anymore, BUT you see sugar stuck to the sides of the applicator, turn the machine off. I use a wooden chopstick and scrape the floss that is stuck to the sides of the floss applicator where you pour the floss in. Let the sugar you scraped off fall back into the applicator. Note: you are NOT removing the sugar stuck on there, but simply scraping it to let it fall back into the applicator. It doesn't do this all the time but it does happen from time to time. Takes 5 seconds to scrape off the sugar left on the sides. Not a big deal. After I scrape off , I turned it on again and the machine INSTANTLY makes the remaining cotton candy from the remaining sugarflos. Once none of the sugar was left inside the applicator, that's when I refilled it.*** See my video and photos to get a better idea of why I rated this product 5 STARS ***
This was a gift for my seven year old who has wanted a cotton candy machine forever. This comes with the machine, some sticks, and the sugar scoop, so you have to order the sugar separately. We got an assortment. Nothing about this was complicated, the directions were clear and concise. My daughter was even able to disassemble and clean everything herself. Lots of fun!
Awsm! Not loud, cute, easy enough to clean (gotta expect some clean-up, right?). Made awsm cotton candy. It's all in the wrist! My brother was a natural, but I could see it required a touch of skill. I suggest looking up how to twirl cotton candy, so you don't blame the machine if your twirling technique is off. My niece and nephews screamed with delight when they opened this gift together, at Christmas! It was hilarious! Wish I had caught that on vid, lol.
Came what I ordered. There is instruction in English. No chips, no marriage revealed. Going easy. In a set of 10 sticks. Before cooking, you need to warm up for two minutes. Of course you need skill to stick not to get into the rotating circle. A large piece of cotton wool will not work, as the basin is small, well, the child for a few animals is enough. I liked it. The seller answered all questions
so i bought this candy maker for my kids birthday party - this is NOT the machine for that unless you have many many patient children or can otherwise distract them. it IS great for small family get togethers and any time you want cotton candy. please read and follow directions and machine works as intended. i did discover that crushing jolly ranchers and mixing plain white sugar together makes a fluffier cotton candy ball that's jolly rancher flavored.
Love this machine, it's easy to use and clean but you have to buy sugar separately. I used the gold medal candy floss ($20 for blue and pink) and it's delicious. The sticks that come with the machine are a little annoying when the cotton candy becomes bigger, it gets harder to spin so I would suggest buying or making your own paper cones so that the floss has something better to grab onto. The sticks do come in handy because you have to break off the sugar stuck to the sides after every other round of sugar. Let the machine heat up for 5-10 minutes.
This product is awesome!! It is ready to use, works great and mostly easy to clean up.. The only party I'm not loving is the fact that the part that melts the sugar is hard to clean. Not impossible, just harder than the rest of the unit! Also it is a little loud after the first use. I would buy it again tho inn a heartbeat!! In the 3 days we've had it we've used it at least 6 times!!
I read a lot of reviews myself before buying it and I was kinda skeptical about buying before I got it. If you read instructions carefully, you will be have your cotton candy easily. It's the easiest job ever. Just make sure you preheat it before making cotton candies and for how to roll the candy, watch a YouTube video. It's simpler than it sounds. It's easy to assmle and dismantle and also easy to clean.
I gave this as a gift to my great niece and nephews. The first thing one of the kids said after unwrapping it was "Oh, we have one of those." Great, just great. A redundant gift. Their mom called me a month later and told me how amazing this brand/item was compared to the one they had purchased. This one worked much better and was so easy to clean. She actually donated her old cotton candy machine and kept this one. Yeah! I win!!
Absolutely fantastic. I love the different flavors. Also, the option to use hard candy. Only 1 (one) problem, everybody wants me to make them a cotton candy cone. Oh well, that's me problem. My fiancee is addicted to cotton candy. We use it everyday. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Easy to use, easy to clean. It is aslo excellent quality. Worth every penny. Thank you very much. We really do love it. Ed Archambeault. edarchambeault11061962@gmail.com
This is super easy to use and makes great cotton candy. I have tried hard candy as well as flavored cotton candy powders. i like the powders more but they both work. I just let it heat up for 10 min then make a cone in like 3 min.
We got this for the family Holiday party. The machine is high quality very solid, not like the cheap machines you see around. We made about twenty cotton candy cones one after another without any issues. Great value for the money. We used the machine together with candery cotton candy floss bundle which was a great pair to use with this machine as it came with everything we needed. The machine is light weight and ran smoothly and ran very quietly with no vibration. just make sure to let it heat up for about five minutes prior to using, it worked better for us when we did that. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality household cotton candy machine without breaking the bank!
Look no further, this company makes INDUSTRIAL cotton candy machines, it only makes sense to buy from the people who specialize in it!Pros; FAST warm up, EASY CLEAN, EASY ASSEMBLY, takes different types of candy not just floss sugar, CAPABLE OF MAKING LARGE FLUFFY AND COPIOUS AMMOUNTS OF COTTON CANDY, looks adorable.Cons; None whatsoever, everyone is jealous of my cotton candy machine. :D
I bought this as a gift but it has been really fun. We have used it a few times over the past few weeks for parties, family get togethers or just because we wanted cotton candy one evening. This machine is very simple to put together and to clean (just soak in warm water for a bit and all the hardened sugar melts away). It is important to realize that his is not a commercial unit like you see at the carnival that can product huge puffs of cotton candy in a few seconds. It takes about 3-5 minutes of spinning the stick above the machine to get a good ball of it. After using it a few times, I'm getting a lot better at it. Holding the stick parallel and above the spinning disk a few inches seemed to work best for me. For something I will use a few times a year and only make 2-3 servings at a time or will let several people make their own at a party I think this is a really excellent unit. Another tip is to follow the instructions and let the unit warm up for 10 minutes before adding sugar. I've not tried hard candy but I want to try jolly ranchers next.
OMG! This machine is Amazing my grandkids loves it and even my mother who is 85. I like how I can put hard candy and it turns into cotton candy "Root beer barrel" so good and the smell of the different candies, again Amazing. After a whole day of making cotton candy at a party I am going to get the commercial one before my cub scouts carnival. Thank you from all of us!!!
It actually makes cotton candy. It took a while to heat up and took a while to get enough candy on the cone. Probably not a good idea for a Birthday party with 29 kids. But with a small group, it would be fine. The kids thought it was the best thing ever!
I got this for my daughters first birthday and it was a hit with the adults and kids. It’s easy to clean just soak the parts in hot water. The cotton candy comes out nice and fluffy and taste extra yummy.
When our first machine malfunctioned, the seller replaced it and gave us three bottles of sugar floss at no charge. The new machine works great, better with the sugar floss than with hard candy, but they both work, and we're very pleased. If you use hard candies, break them up before putting them into the machine.
I was surprised by this little cotton candy machine. It heats up very quickly and the cotton candy just appears like magic before the little one's eyes. It is so fun to watch the little one's see their cotton candy appear. I thought it would be a real mess to clean but after it cooled I put the 3 washable parts into a sink full of warm water with dawn dish soap and it cleaned up so easily with no problem at all.
This is a great product. It’s very easy to clean and use. It’s more for individual use. I wouldn’t use this for a bday party because it would take forever and it doesn’t make the amount of cotton candy you’d buy at, say, a carnival. You’d have to stop and add the flosssugar at least 3 times to get one that size.My biggest complaint is, the clear piece on top is cheaply made. It’s hard plastic. I accidentally knocked if off of the table onto the floor second time we used it and it broke. I’ve tried glueing it but it didn’t hold. Now I have to hold it together and it’s super noisy and I have no idea where to buy a replacement part. I would’ve paid a little extra for one that has metal or something more durable, had I known how cheaply made that part was. The rest of the machine is superbly made and durable.
This machine is soon fun...We all stand in line in the kitchen lol. My kids love it but I think I love it more and I'm 41.
The first one didn't work and we sent it back. No biggie. It's horrible to clean, but the kids love it. And the cotton candy is really awesome. Guess I'm not a carny at heart.
IT GETS HOT AND NOT FOR KIDS TO USE WITHOUT PARENT BUT THE COTTON CANDY IS THE BEST WHEN YOU MAKE IT FRESH.,AND WHEN WE WERE DONE WE JUST LET IT COOL DOWN. THERE WAS A RING OF HARD CANDY FROM THE COTTON CANDY FLOSS SUGAR IT WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE COTTON CANDY, WAS VERY EASY TO CLEAN JUST WIPED IT OFF WITH A SOFT CLOTH AND SOAPY WATER. It's READY AGAIN
Great machine! Was easy to make out first ever cotton candy. My son loves it. Only wish it made more at once. Overall we love it!Note* you will need to get your own floss sugar.
I'm not one to write very many reviews but I do find reviews extremely helpful when making my decision on a product. I figured this product deserved my input to balance that of others who may not have had a great experience.First off, the packaging made for quite an excited looks on the kids faces when they tore into the gift wrap.Secondly, setup was SUPER EASY! Directions are clear and concise and easily understood by a rather precocious 10 year old. (I still wouldn't recommend leaving this unattended with a kid of any age though, it does generate some impressive heat).Third, it does NOT come with any floss sugar (nor does it claim to, but just in case you think it would...it does not). I did not purchase any floss sugar but we busted up some candy canes and made some interesting peppermint flavored cotton candy. The fun stuff, follow the directions ... 5 minutes of warm up time for the hard candy (candy canes in my case) and it will begin spitting out the "cotton" almost immediately. The kids caught the hang of rolling the straws around to gather up the deliciousness very quickly. They were eating it almost as fast as it could make it! (Note, you want to allow the spinner to completely stop before dropping anything in and I would recommend using two pieces of candy of equal size placed on opposite sides of the spinner to help balance it out, this reduces wear and tear on the motor bearing).Next up, we will be trying some good ol' Jolly Ranchers in the device. I expect the JR's to maybe generate slightly more cotton candy per load as it is more dense than the candy canes. I will update this review then.-Update - Jolly Rancher resulted in a very small amount of cotton candy but an interesting strip of hard candy around the bowl. Still ate the crunchy goodness but would rather just eat the candy and not have to clean up. Will be trying some floss sugar next.Safety note...children with long hair MUST have their hair tied up. I did not have any issue but I can see where this could be a potential hazard for youngsters as they gather around the machine.Clean up was easier than expected, warm water and mild soap was all I needed.
I've used this machine for 5 days now, and it works well. You have to get the hang of spinning them, but once you do that, it collects on the spindle easily. I would suggest using the straws that come with the machine vs. the cones that come with the various floss sugar. I find that the cone is hard to get started because the "bowl" is pretty small and the space between the floss 'spinner' and the edge of the bowl is narrow. A single tablespoon of floss sugar makes approximately 1/3 of a regular bag or cone at the fair or amusement park. That means be prepared to continue making cotton candy for a while. Having said that, it's an economical machine that yields a moderate amount of yummy cotton candy-- it's not going to whip out multiple servings per batch like a commercial machine would. It was a Christmas gift, but I'd definitely buy this machine and would recommend it to others.
I like this, but I do have issues. It takes about 10 minutes to be hot enough to use. Barely. After the 2nd sugar fill up, the strands start coming out less easily. The machine gets clogged at that point. It has to do with the small nature of this machine. I'm only mildly disappointed because it was inexpensive and I knew what I was buying. Moving forward, I would get a larger machine that has a better heat source.
I made delivery from Russia. The order came a week later the courier gave a call in advance. Thank you all satisfied
I bought this for my son last Christmas. We've used it several times and I'm not at all disappointed. I did a lot of research because nothing is worse than buying a child a candy making toy just to have it not work. I wanted something inexpensive but actually functional. Assembly was so easy, cleaning is fairly easy. Actually making the candy is fun, if a little thrilling/scary (read: red hot heating element spinning at high speeds making lots of noise). Once you get the technique down it's great! I prefer using the hard candy over the granulated sugar and I loved that we could take some of the Christmas hard candies we got and turn them into cotton candy (pro tip: peppermint cotton candy is delicious)
Bought this as a gift for my neice and she was making cotton candy Christmas Day and the candy was good!
A good product. Convenient to use. Only one negative no delivery to the house. Had To go to office shipping IML and extra cost.
